Exploding Kittens - Guest Review & Un-Boxing 0

Hi all,

I always love it when I get requests like this, last week Hero Stash contacted me to see if I would be interested in trialling the card game Exploding Kittens and writing a review. Of course I leapt at the chance straight away.

Trialling any game is always fun but when it’s also the number one backed game on kickstarter.com, man do I get excited!

With Exploding Kittens the excitement was warranted. Exploding Kittens is a fast, fun and easy to learn card game for two to five players. As the rules say, the best way to learn is to watch the following video: www.explodingkittens.com/how

I would recommend that at least one person read the rules if you’ve never played before. I would also keep them handy as they have a reference guide for the cards that are used in the game.



So what’s the game like? Well, in short, it’s fantastic! The premise is simple, if you draw an exploding kitten from the deck and you don’t have a diffuse card – you’re out! The game is played with each player taking a turn, playing any number of cards they wish and then ending their turn by drawing a card. The game ends when all players except one have drawn an exploding kitten which leaves only one player left in the game. This can cause some pretty fun and heated discussions but the good thing here is the game is always over once the deck is done which makes it great if you like quick, enjoyable games that don’t drag on.



The cards themselves are awesome, they are clever, humorous and also almost every card has individual artwork to make them all the more interesting and funny. Cards can allow you to do things in the game such stealing opponents cards, checking what’s coming in the deck or, my personal favourite, the “Nope” card, in which you can tell another player that they ain’t playing that card and rather will be getting a Nope sandwich with a side helping of NOPE!

I should explain here that this game also has two versions, it’s got the family friendly version, which is fun for all ages and still has a heap of humour on the cards. Alternatively there is also an adult version of the game which takes that humour to the next level and if you don’t laugh at the names and drawings on those cards, well then you simply don’t have a sense of humour.

It’s pretty easy to see why this game has had such great press. If you’re a card game/board game fan and you play with a usual group, this is a must have for the collection. However even if you are just dipping your toe into the game world, this is the perfect easy starter game that all can enjoy. So go out and find some Exploding Kittens!

See you at Supanova! 0

It's that time of year and Supanova is coming to Adelaide next weekend, November 18-20. Hero Stash will be exhibiting at Supanova Adelaide for the first time this year and we are really excited about meeting our fans and local collectors. We love supplying the Adelaide market with the newest and coolest high quality collectables.

Hero Stash will be operating from booth 1646 for the entire exhibition. Check out the below map for the layout and how to find us.

Unfortunately due to exhibiting at Supanova our retail store will be closed on Friday November 18 until Monday November 21. We will re-open as per usual on Tuesday November 22. We hope that this does not cause too much inconvenience for our customers and hope to see some you at Supanova.

New York Comic Con 2016 Exclusives 0

Most of you would be aware that New York Comic Con 2016 is upon us and happening this Friday 7 October. As usual Funko have created NYCC Pop! Vinyl exclusives for this event. Hero Stash has been lucky enough to secure a large number of units covering 19 different Pop! Vinyl NYCC Exclusives.

We will have these available in store from 10am on Friday 7 October. This is your opportunity to gain access to and purchase the first wave of exclusives and be one of the first in Australia to have them. The NYCC exclusives will NOT be available on our online store until after we close on Saturday. Our store will be open from 10am-4pm on Friday and Saturday.

Those of you who can't make it in store will be able to purchase any remaining stock on our online store from Saturday night onwards.

To sweeten the deal Hero Stash will be selling the NYCC Pop! Vinyl exclusives for $23.00 or 2 for $45. Don't pay $25 or more, come and get yours for less than retail prices at the same time as the rest of Australia/The World.
