Pokémon TCG Organised Play: Pitch Black Pre-Release at Hero Stash

Hero Stash is excited to host our very first official Pokémon TCG Pre-Release event, giving Trainers the chance to experience the upcoming Pitch Black expansion before its official release.

Open brand new cards for the first time, build your deck and battle it out with fellow Pokémon players in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Event Details

Date: Thursday, 9 July 2026
Registration: From 6:00pm
Deck Building Begins: 6:30pm sharp
Entry Fee: $50 per player (pay on the day)
Player Capacity: Strictly limited to 14 players

Please arrive 30 minutes before the event begins to register, make payment and be ready for deck building at 6:30pm.

As a thank you to those who have supported our weekly Pokémon nights, priority registration has been offered to players who regularly attend our Thursday night Pokémon sessions.

Update: We already have commitments from 8 of our 14 available places, leaving only 6 remaining spots available.

Each player will receive a Pokémon Build & Battle Box, containing:

1 ready-to-play 40-card deck featuring one of four exclusive foil promo cards
4 Pokémon TCG: Pitch Black booster packs
Additional deck-building cards

Players will have 30 minutes to build their deck before the tournament begins.

New to Pokémon organised play? No problem. A Pre-Release is one of the best ways to get started, and our community is always happy to help new players learn the ropes.

Attack of the Vine Arrives: Disney Lorcana Pre-Release at Hero Stash

Disney Lorcana's newest set, Attack of the Vine, is arriving at Hero Stash with another exciting Pre-Release event. Following the introduction of official Pre-Release Boxes, players once again have the opportunity to be among the first to play with the new cards in a fun and welcoming sealed format. This set continues Lorcana's expansion into Pixar, bringing some incredible fan-favourite characters into the game, with a spotlight on Monsters Inc., Turning Red and Up. Whether you're a seasoned Illumineer or looking to try Lorcana for the first time, this is the perfect chance to dive into the newest chapter of the game.

What You're Getting

Each player will receive an Attack of the Vine Pre-Release Box, which includes 6 booster packs plus exclusive contents, including a random promo card. On top of that, you'll also receive 2 additional Attack of the Vine booster packs, bringing your total to 8 packs for the day. These bonus packs will be handed out at the end of the event and can be used to jump straight into casual Pack Rush games once the main rounds are finished.

How the Event Works

You'll build a minimum 40-card deck using only the 6 booster packs inside your Pre-Release Box. The bonus packs are not used for deck building and are reserved for after the event. There are no ink colour restrictions and no limits on duplicate cards, making this a flexible format for both experienced players and anyone new to the game. If you haven't played before, we're more than happy to help you get set up and ready.

Rounds

• Up to 8 players: 3 rounds, 45 minutes each
• 9-14 players: 4 rounds, 45 minutes each

No top cut, standings are final after Swiss rounds.

Prizing

All players will receive 2 Attack of the Vine booster packs, with the promo card included inside the Pre-Release Box. If we reach 10 or more players, we'll also give away an Attack of the Vine Trove to one lucky participant, drawn at random at the conclusion of the event.

Disney Lorcana Organised Play - Toy Story School Holiday Pack Rush

Join us these school holidays for a special Disney Lorcana Pack Rush event featuring the exclusive Buzz Lightyear - Space Ranger promotional card.

To celebrate the upcoming Toy Story 5 release, Ravensburger has created this special promotional card which will be given to players attending participating Pack Rush events while supplies last.

Whether you're a regular Lorcana player, completely new to the game, or looking for a fun school holiday activity, Pack Rush is one of the easiest and most enjoyable ways to play Disney Lorcana.

What Is Pack Rush?

Pack Rush is a fast-paced Disney Lorcana format that requires no deck building and no pre-constructed deck.

Players simply:

Open two Disney Lorcana booster packs
Shuffle all the cards together
Draw a starting hand and begin playing

There are no ink colour restrictions, meaning every card from your packs can be played together regardless of ink type.

To get games started quickly, players also begin with two ink already in play and ready to use.

Games use normal Disney Lorcana rules with two simple changes:

The first player to reach 15 lore wins
If your deck runs out, shuffle your discard pile to create a new deck

Because every deck is created from random booster packs, every game is different and often leads to fun and unexpected combinations.

Event Structure

This is a casual, unstructured event rather than a traditional tournament.

Players are welcome to play as many Pack Rush games as time allows throughout the event. Once you've finished a game, simply jump into another and keep playing.

There are no standings, no elimination rounds and no pressure, just a fun way to open packs, play games and enjoy Disney Lorcana with the community.

Every participant will receive an exclusive Buzz Lightyear - Space Ranger promotional card while supplies last.

Promo quantities are limited, so we encourage players to register early through Ravensburger Play Hub.

Disney Lorcana Organised Play - Wilds Unknown Set Championship

Hero Stash is excited to announce the next official Disney Lorcana Set Championship, featuring the brand new Wilds Unknown set.

Set Championships are the highest level of in-store Disney Lorcana organised play, giving players the opportunity to compete for exclusive Ravensburger promotional prizes, booster packs and the title of Hero Stash Store Champion.

Whether you’re a regular at weekly Lorcana events or looking to experience competitive organised play for the first time, the Wilds Unknown Set Championship will be a full day of competitive matches, community atmosphere and exclusive prizing.

With only 16 spots available, players should register as early as possible through Ravensburger Play Hub to secure their place in the event.

To help support the growing competitive Lorcana community at Hero Stash, we’ve also increased the booster pack prizing for this Set Championship compared to previous events, with additional packs added to 5th–16th place.

Date: Saturday 6 June 2026
Time: 11:00 AM start
Entry Fee: $35
Registration: Ravensburger Play Hub
Player Cap: 16
Minimum Players: 8 (A minimum of 8 players is required for the Set Championship to run. If minimum attendance is not reached, the event will be cancelled.)

Check-in begins at 10:30 AM. Players not present by 10:50 AM may have their seat offered to a waiting player so the event can begin on time.

Pre-registration is required due to limited seating. Players can register through Ravensburger Play Hub or contact Hero Stash and we can add you to the event. Payment will be taken on the day.

Spots are limited to 16 players, and registration helps us prepare the event correctly. If you register but later realise you cannot attend, please remove your registration on Play Hub or let Hero Stash know as soon as possible so the spot can be offered to another player.

Please only register if you are confident you can attend on the day.

The End of an Era - Hero Stash Shop Front Update

Story time!

The Beginning - Opening Hero Stash

I (Simon) started Hero Stash at the end of 2015 as an online only business, but in July of 2016 I opened the first physical shop in Manningham, South Australia. When I was planning the shop front and signage, I didn’t want a standard plain facade, I wanted something big and bold that represented the kind of genres and characters I was selling.

Hero Stash is a collectables and trading card game store based in Paradise, Adelaide, specialising in Pokémon, Disney Lorcana, Magic: The Gathering, One Piece, and more. Over the past 10 years, the store has grown into a local hub for collectors and TCG players.

The Original Airbrushed Panels

I also wanted to support local artists, so I commissioned a local airbrush artist to paint three large panels for the shop frontage. I broke it down into three themes: Star Wars, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Thor. At that time the Marvel Cinematic Universe was extremely popular and a lot of the products I sold were from those movies, so it made perfect sense for the shop frontage.

Those three panels have now been on the front of Hero Stash for 10 years across two different store locations. Through heat, cold, sun, and rain, they have held up very well and become part of the identity of the store. A lot of customers still tell me they remember seeing the artwork for the first time when driving past, and it’s something that made the shop recognisable from the road.

But after 10 years, it was time for a change.

Hero Stash in 2026 - A Different Store

Hero Stash in 2026 is very different to Hero Stash in 2016, evolving into a dedicated TCG and collectibles store in Adelaide. The store has grown and evolved, especially in trading card games with organised play, leagues, and tournaments now a large part of what we do every week.

With that in mind, I decided it was time to update the shop front to better reflect what Hero Stash is today and where it’s going in the future. After a lot of brainstorming, I came up with the idea of having the three new art panels represented as “teams”, like in a '90s video game where you select your team before you start playing.

The three teams are Disney, Pokémon, and Dragon Ball/One Piece. The design shows each team standing there looking fierce, ready for selection. The new artwork also gives a much clearer indication of what we sell in store for anyone driving past the shop, and they’ve been designed in bright colours to stand out and draw your eye.

So the question is… what team do you choose?

Supporting Local Artists

Because I wanted to support another local artist again, I commissioned my good friend and talented tattoo artist, Pete Cox, to do the physical drawing for me. We discussed the plan and worked on a mock layout together before he got to work. He approached it very similar to how a tattoo is designed, digitally drawing every line of each character and then shading each one by hand. I think he has done a fantastic job and really brought the vision to life. You can check out more of his work on Instagram @tattoospetecox.

The End of an Era

Taking the old panels down was a strange feeling. They’ve been there since day one, and for 10 years they’ve been part of the store’s story. But change is part of growing a business, and this is a really exciting next step for Hero Stash.

A Piece of Hero Stash History

For anyone who is curious, the original airbrushed panels are now available for sale. They are original commissioned artworks (not prints), painted on metallic board and built to last outdoors, and they would make great statement pieces for a games room, home theatre, garage, or even a business fit-out.

More importantly though, they are a piece of Hero Stash history.

And now, we look forward to the next 10 years.
