Enter the Wild with Disney Lorcana: Wilds Unknown Pre-Release at Hero Stash

Disney Lorcana’s newest set, Wilds Unknown, is arriving at Hero Stash with a brand new Pre-Release format. For the first time, Lorcana introduces official Pre-Release Boxes, giving players a more structured sealed experience from the moment you sit down. This set also brings Pixar into Lorcana, featuring Toy Story and The Incredibles, making it one of the most anticipated releases so far. Whether you’ve been playing weekly or looking for the right time to jump in, this is the perfect chance to experience the set first.

Format: Sealed (Pre-Release Box)
Player Cap: 14 players

What You’re Getting
Each player will receive a Wilds Unknown Pre-Release Box, which includes 6 booster packs plus exclusive contents, including a random promo card. On top of that, you’ll also receive 2 additional Wilds Unknown booster packs, bringing your total to 8 packs for the day. These bonus packs will be handed out at the end of the event and can be used to jump straight into casual Pack Rush games once the main rounds are finished.

How the Event Works
You’ll build a minimum 40-card deck using only the 6 booster packs inside your Pre-Release Box. The bonus packs are not used for deck building and are reserved for after the event. There are no ink colour restrictions and no limits on duplicate cards, making this a flexible format for both experienced players and anyone new to the game. If you haven’t played before, we’re more than happy to help you get set up and ready.

Rounds
• Up to 8 players: 3 rounds, 45 minutes each
• 9-14 players: 4 rounds, 45 minutes each
No top cut, standings are final after Swiss rounds.

Prizing
All players will receive 2 Wilds Unknown booster packs, with the promo card included inside the Pre-Release Box. If we reach 10 or more players, the winner will also take home a Wilds Unknown Trove.

Any Lorcana booster box purchased during the event will come with an exclusive promo card, while stocks last.

Registration
Spots are limited and expected to fill. Players can register themselves through the Ravensburger Play Hub, or contact us and we’ll handle registration for you. If you’re planning to attend, we recommend securing your spot early.

The End of an Era - Hero Stash Shop Front Update

Story time!

The Beginning - Opening Hero Stash

I (Simon) started Hero Stash at the end of 2015 as an online only business, but in July of 2016 I opened the first physical shop in Manningham, South Australia. When I was planning the shop front and signage, I didn’t want a standard plain facade, I wanted something big and bold that represented the kind of genres and characters I was selling.

Hero Stash is a collectables and trading card game store based in Paradise, Adelaide, specialising in Pokémon, Disney Lorcana, Magic: The Gathering, One Piece, and more. Over the past 10 years, the store has grown into a local hub for collectors and TCG players.

The Original Airbrushed Panels

I also wanted to support local artists, so I commissioned a local airbrush artist to paint three large panels for the shop frontage. I broke it down into three themes: Star Wars, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Thor. At that time the Marvel Cinematic Universe was extremely popular and a lot of the products I sold were from those movies, so it made perfect sense for the shop frontage.

Those three panels have now been on the front of Hero Stash for 10 years across two different store locations. Through heat, cold, sun, and rain, they have held up very well and become part of the identity of the store. A lot of customers still tell me they remember seeing the artwork for the first time when driving past, and it’s something that made the shop recognisable from the road.

But after 10 years, it was time for a change.

Hero Stash in 2026 - A Different Store

Hero Stash in 2026 is very different to Hero Stash in 2016, evolving into a dedicated TCG and collectibles store in Adelaide. The store has grown and evolved, especially in trading card games with organised play, leagues, and tournaments now a large part of what we do every week.

With that in mind, I decided it was time to update the shop front to better reflect what Hero Stash is today and where it’s going in the future. After a lot of brainstorming, I came up with the idea of having the three new art panels represented as “teams”, like in a '90s video game where you select your team before you start playing.

The three teams are Disney, Pokémon, and Dragon Ball/One Piece. The design shows each team standing there looking fierce, ready for selection. The new artwork also gives a much clearer indication of what we sell in store for anyone driving past the shop, and they’ve been designed in bright colours to stand out and draw your eye.

So the question is… what team do you choose?

Supporting Local Artists

Because I wanted to support another local artist again, I commissioned my good friend and talented tattoo artist, Pete Cox, to do the physical drawing for me. We discussed the plan and worked on a mock layout together before he got to work. He approached it very similar to how a tattoo is designed, digitally drawing every line of each character and then shading each one by hand. I think he has done a fantastic job and really brought the vision to life. You can check out more of his work on Instagram @tattoospetecox.

The End of an Era

Taking the old panels down was a strange feeling. They’ve been there since day one, and for 10 years they’ve been part of the store’s story. But change is part of growing a business, and this is a really exciting next step for Hero Stash.

A Piece of Hero Stash History

For anyone who is curious, the original airbrushed panels are now available for sale. They are original commissioned artworks (not prints), painted on metallic board and built to last outdoors, and they would make great statement pieces for a games room, home theatre, garage, or even a business fit-out.

More importantly though, they are a piece of Hero Stash history.

And now, we look forward to the next 10 years.

Disney Lorcana Organised Play - Winterspell Set Championship

The next Disney Lorcana Store Championship is coming to Hero Stash, featuring the Winterspell set and a full day of competitive play for exclusive Ravensburger prizes and the title of Hero Stash Store Champion.

This is Hero Stash’s official Winterspell Set Championship event for the Adelaide Lorcana community, giving players the opportunity to compete at the highest level of in-store organised play.

This event is a great opportunity to put your deckbuilding and gameplay skills to the test against other players in Adelaide’s Lorcana community while competing for official championship prizes.

Event Details

Date: Saturday 11 April 2026
Time: 11:00 AM start
Entry Fee: $35
Registration: Ravensburger Play Hub
Player Cap: 16
Minimum Players: 8

Check-in begins at 10:30 AM. Players not present by 10:50 AM may have their seat offered to a waiting player so the event can begin on time.

Pre-registration is strongly recommended due to limited seating. Players can register through the Ravensburger Play Hub or contact Hero Stash and we can add you to the event. Payment will be taken on the day.

Spots are limited to 16 players, and registration helps us prepare the event correctly. If you register but later realise you cannot attend, please remove your registration on Play Hub or let Hero Stash know as soon as possible so the spot can be offered to another player.

Please only register if you are confident you can attend on the day.

Tournament Structure & Rounds of Play

Format: Core Constructed with Swiss rounds and a potential Top Cut depending on attendance.

Rules Enforcement Level: Competitive

Swiss Rounds:
60 minutes per round
Best-of-Three matches

Top Cut:
Best-of-Three matches
All Top Cut rounds are untimed

Rounds Based on Attendance:
8 players: 3 Swiss rounds, no Top Cut
9–16 players: 4 Swiss rounds followed by a Top 4 cut (all Top Cut rounds untimed)

Deck Lists & Rules

All players must submit a deck list before the tournament begins (either send your list to Hero Stash beforehand or bring a printed copy).

Deck list sheets will also be available in-store.

Deck restriction: No cards from Sets 1–4 may be included.

An official judge will be present alongside Hero Stash staff to ensure fair play and accurate rulings throughout the tournament.

Whether you’re competing for the Champion playmat or simply looking for a great day of competitive Lorcana, the Winterspell Store Championship is a fantastic chance to test your skills and play alongside other members of the Adelaide Lorcana community.

Pokémon League Adelaide - Hero Stash Now an Official Play! Pokémon Store

Hero Stash has officially been approved as a Play! Pokémon League Store in Adelaide.

After completing the approval process, we are now part of the official Play! Pokémon program, allowing us to host sanctioned Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) League sessions and, over time, larger competitive events.

Weekly Pokémon League Nights Every Thursday

Hero Stash will now run weekly Play! Pokémon Sessions every Thursday night at our Adelaide store.

These sessions will rotate between:

Official Trading Nights
Casual Play Sessions
Learn to Play Pokémon TCG evenings
Structured League events as our community grows

All League attendance is reported through the official Play! Pokémon system. Players will need a Pokémon Trainer Club account and Play! Pokémon ID to check in. If you do not yet have one, our staff can assist you in setting it up in store.

Consistent League reporting is important, as it directly impacts eligibility for future Play! Pokémon support, including League Challenges, League Cups and Prize Pack allocations.

As our League establishes consistent attendance and reporting, Hero Stash intends to introduce:

How Sealed Format Works

Each player will receive 6 Winterspell booster packs to build a deck of at least 40 cards.

No ink colour restrictions - mix any inks you like.
No card copy limits - if you open multiple copies, you can play them all.
New to Lorcana? No worries! We’re happy to help you build your deck, or you can just shuffle up and play. The focus is on fun and exploring the new set.

Round Structure

Side Event - Pack Rush

When the main event wraps up, jump into our fast-paced Pack Rush side event for just $18.

Each player receives 2 Winterspell booster packs

It’s quick, unpredictable, and a great way to test new cards and have some extra fun.

Hero Stash at Adelaide Pokémon Card Show - Store Closed Saturday 31 January 2026

Hero Stash will be vending at the Adelaide Pokémon Card Show this Saturday at Unley Town Hall. As a local Adelaide Pokémon card store, we regularly attend community events like this to connect with collectors and keep supporting the local trading card scene.

Because we will be vending at the event, our physical store will be closed on Saturday 31 January 2026.

Buying, Selling & Trading Pokémon Cards On The Day

We won’t just be selling at this event, Hero Stash will also be buying and trading Pokémon cards on-site.
